Roger Halstead, a semi-retired Naval Architect and Yacht builder, having restored more than 300 antique dining/billiard tables over the past 10 years (some being 150 years old), decided to build some similar modern tables. He used traditional methods of construction and has added some innovative and patented (worldwide) features to the modern tables.
A snooker/pool/dining table like this has never been constructed before. It was thought that it would be impossible to condense all the amenities (ball raceways, etc.) into the thickness of the table.
At a dining height of 29½ inches (75 cm) there is sufficient legroom for regular dining chairs. To play, the dining top is removed and the power-assisted lifting mechanism in the legs is activated. This lifts the playing surface to the correct playing height. The operation is reversable and repeatable to within two thousandths of an inch (less than the thickness of a hair).
Solid Oak, Mahogany, Beech or Maple is used in the construction of these tables. Strengthening supports are used throughout the table and its slate bed. All tables come with a 4-year guarantee and will become antiques.
One of these fantastic tables can become the focal point of your family's life. Billiards and Pool are family games and reunite parents and children. Everybody enjoys playing.
